	Do not have your bank send your new checks to your home address. Tell the bank that you prefer to pick them up in person.

	Do not put your Social Security number on your checks.

	Have your first and middle initial and your last name instead of your full name printed on your checks.
	If asked to put a credit-card number or account number on the payment check you send to pay bills - only write the last four digits.
